On 3rd November 2023, Professor Kassoum Kayentao, from University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako was invited to hold a training course on malaria at R-Evolution Worldwide headquarters, in Maglie, Italy.

The training course, held by Professor Kayentao, focused on the following topics:

• Burden and epidemiology of malaria
• Malaria definition and parasite species
• Physiopathology of malaria and parasite life cycle
• Malaria immunology
• Update on malaria prevention (ITN-IRS, IPTp, malaria vaccines and Monoclonal antibodies)
• Update on malaria treatment
• Antimalarial resistance
• Challenges to the control of malaria
•  Malaria in Pregnancy

This initiative was well aligned with the principle of ensuring knowledge transfer/capacity development intra consortium. The training course was attended by all R-Evolution Worldwide staff.
