2nd International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA)

In December the Second International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) was held in Kigali, in person for the first time. Building on CPHIA 2021, that instead took place virtually, the CPHIA 2022 Conference gathered 2800 between scientists, policymakers and stakeholders to share perspectives and research public health findings, in order to make space for new strengthened scientific collaboration and innovation. Over 11 thousand participants had also the opportunity to join the Conference online.
From CPHIA 2021 focused on pandemic lessons, in CPHIA 2022 conference were addressed discussion on need to ensure global health security. The conference also offered dedicated tracks focused on progress in the areas of digital health technologies, local vaccine manufacturing capacity, as well as all concerning HIV, TB, Malaria and Non-Communicable Diseases, and the need of strengthening of health system for equitable and universal health African coverage. In the conference related issues were addressed equity and inclusion, dedicated totally to Woman in Health, as, also the importance of public-private partnership in enhancement of overall health response.
During this conference we had the opportunity to present our first results of INTEGRATION project. The baseline data showed was collected in May-June 2022 in Mali and in Burkina Faso, recently delivered, where we implemented the intervention started in July 2022, during seasonal malaria chemoprevention season.
